I and my sisters always wanted a dog.
7 years ago, our grandma's neighbor found a dog on the street and too it home, and was looking for someone who'd take it. Our grandma toud us about it and we annoyed our mother till she take us there, went crazy to see it, it was a female cocker spaniel that then we started calling Mel.
After begging to our mother let we keep her, we finally got her home, but as she was with a purple color on her leg, that was some kind of medicine, and because she had breed we thought that maybe she was just lost.
Mama agreed we'd keep her if we couldn't find her owner, and then, it started, we walked her around for days and days, asking people if they knew anything about someone who had lost a cocker and bla bla bla. Then one day, our grandma was on the yard with her when a woman passed by, and as she saw Mel, she said she knew her, she said Mel's owner was her neighbor, and that she abandoned her when she moved. Abandoned.
This woman then took care of her feeding and treating her injures while the poor thing stood around where her bitch owner used to live, but as she already had 10 dogs she took from the street she had no much of a choise. But after some time she went away to somewhere else where our grandma's neighbor must have found her.
We realized then she was leaving blood spots on the ground, mama took her to the vet, the vet said she had an infection on her ovary, what made us think it was the reason why that bitch abandoned her, she also said she was probably 5 years old, and that she probably had babies already. Our mom then paid for the surgery and everything went fine.
She then, was ours, after wishing for so long we finally had a dog, we plaied with her, we had fun with her, when we arrived home she was always so happy wagging her little tail and barking around, she was always crazy to take a walk, always stood around the ones eating, stole some stuff from the table and what dropped wouldn't last a second. She was sweet, she was fat, and each year older, things were like that for years, she watched we growing, we lived together for a long time, everyday, I remember when we were going for a trip to Akropolis I cried cuz we'd stay 5 days without seeing her, as her names says she was sweet and kind, to everybody, always so kind, she didn't like fights, when we were screaming to each other even when we were just kidding she started barking and crying, she always slept on the bed with us, and always made us company(most likely to mama..).
Then, one day, she was a bit strange, her pee was different and she was a bit quieter, but as she sometimes puked or had diarrhea because she always ate everything, like toilet paper or soap, we thought it was like it always.
The next day, as we arrived from school, the yard was clean, we got in and mama was cleaning the bedroom, it looked like she was snifing, but as she's allergic to things with strong smell I thought it was because of the disinfectant, then we asked what happened, she said Mel had dirtied the ground, we asked where she was, and she said she was at the vet, they told us that pap heard she screamig like crazy on the morning, and when he went to see her, he called her and touched her and she didn't react, when mama arrived they took her to the vet, she was unconscious, the vet said her liver wasn't working properly, and said it could had damaged the brain already, and that it also could have been caused by poison or something, the house stood quite all day, we were all surprised and scared, we cried all day, tring to forget it and do something else.
When mama came back from her work we three her and our grandma went to the vet to see her.
When we arrived the vet showed us her, she was all yellow, breathing fast, with a thing stuck on her wrist, the vet said that after the examination she now knew that what she had was liver dysfunction, hepatitis and while she was explaining Mel started gasping and stoped breathing, the vet started pressing her chest, and some other stuff I don't remember, they tried, but it didn't work, she was gone.
We all caressed her head one last time and kissed her, after mama and the vet talk about some stuff we came home.
She was an angel, that now got wings. She was the best dog we could want, and everyone will miss her so much, and now when we get up, or when we come back home, the house feels empty, and its so evident the lack of a wagging tail or those loud barks.
It still hurts to talk about her,I loved her too much, but I wanted to write something, to thank her for making of all those years beautiful memories to keep. I'll miss her forever.

But I think it won't be that hard to get a new dog now, on saturdays they take homeless animals to Gonzaga (a part of the city with many malls and cool stuff) to be adopted, maybe we can make up their minds to take one home, I hope

I don't feel like reading this all, if there's any mistake that's why...
